Novice Gala (Hamble) 26 Apr 08. Having
lead the gala at the start, Seals eventually finished in 3rd
place after receiving several time penalties due to the number
of swimmers who gained excellent new personal best times
performing beyond expectation. An enjoyable event with a
lot of excitement due to the close competition. Boy of the Gala - William Bedford for mastering his backstroke finish and giving an excellent performance in backstroke and freestyle. Other nominations were Harry Crosswell and Curtis Wrigley. Girl of the Gala - Lizzy Kirkhope for a 3 sec PB and improved style in butterfly. Also nominated was Rose Kitchener for her backstroke swim. |
